Microsclerotherapy
What is Microsclerotherapy?
Prominent spider veins, thread veins, and matting on the legs, are a very common problem that can affect confidence, and restrict lifestyles.
Microscelerotherapy is the ‘gold standard’ treatment and is ideal for small thread veins to larger reticular veins.
Most patients can expect a 70-80% improvement in the appearance of their legs and multiple sessions may be required to achieve the maximum clearance. As with any aesthetic treatment, complete perfection cannot be guaranteed.

How does is work?
The procedure involves injecting the veins with a sclerosant, using a tiny needle. This irritates the lining of the vessel causing it to collapse and disappear. Some of these veins can start to regenerate so more than one treatment may be required to achieve the optimum results.
Why do I need a consultation before treatment?
The consultation is important to assess suitability for treatment. Julia will undertake medical screening, and use a handheld doppler to rule out any venous insufficiency.
You will also be advised on what size compression hosiery you will need, which you will be advised to wear for several days for following the procedure
When will I see results?
Typically, the veins will look worse than better following treatment, this is completely normal. Improvement should be seen within a couple of weeks, but it can take anything up to 3 or 4 months to see the maximum benefit.
How many sessions will I need?
Improvement will be seen after one session. However, it is wise to budget for up to 4 treatments for optimal results.
Does it hurt?
The procedure is not painful. The needles used to inject the sclerosant are very small and discomfort is minimal. Some patients even report it as being relaxing!
